Horrible experience. Midwife had no idea what was going on, after I waited 20 minutes in a room to be seen. Front desk not that nice or helpful at all. Don't expect to get used to seeing the same person because that will never happen. Please, pick your hospital wisely ladies!
I have never been so discriminated against in my life. A single mom on Medicaid, they implied abortion after I had clearly said I was keeping the baby. They were condescending & snide at each appointment. They sent social services to my house days after my HEALTHY son was born because I had asked for a couple pain pills to take home because my vagina had torn and my back was incrediably sore after a 31 hour labor. I still have PTSD six years later.
I just had a baby about three months ago with the help of these wonderful woman. I am one of those woman that freak out over everything and constantly went in and they never batted an eye. They always made me feel comfortable and safe. I was offered security and anonymity during my hospital stay. I even was able to see a free therapist durring my appointments which was a God send! When it came time to give birth they respected all of my needs and wishes. It turned into an emergency c-section and I am SO greatful that they worked quickly and efficiently to safely deliver my son. It was wonderful to be in their care!
I have tried to hold off on writing a review and give time for things to be figured out, but after 12 days of the complete run around I am frustrated. I am a self pay patient and when I called and scheduled the initial prenatal appointment they told me my cost would be about $376 and would include meeting with a provider and an ultrasound to confirm the dating and viability of the pregnancy. When we met the provider she said she was not able to do the ultrasound (which my husband had taken the day off work to be there to see). We were super frustrated, but they were able to get us an afternoon appointment at another Rose office to have the ultrasound. Even though it ended up taking up almost the whole day (initial appointment at 9:30, ultrasound at 3:30, that didn't actually happen until 5:00) we were so excited to see our baby that we were trying to just stay positive. I still assumed the $376 included the ultrasound fee (why would I pay almost $400 to talk to a doctor for 20 minutes and have my blood pressure taken and weighed, which is ALL they did). When I arrived for the ultrasound they said that charge would be $715, which I refused to pay. After pulling up the list of charges online and presenting it to the billing department they reduced the charge to $286, which is still more than they have listed online. Since we had already wasted an entire day waiting around we did more forward with it. The ultrasound tech could not tell me much of what she saw, so I called the next morning to get our results. Of course, since the ultrasound was done in another office the nurse just read the report and could only give me vague information but requested I have another follow up ultrasound in 5 days. Of course I was freaking out, and did not want to go through this process again. A day after all this I decided to just go pick up my medical records and go elsewhere. When I picked up my records I spoke with the office manager who said the ultrasound was absolutely supposed to be included, and she also didn't understand why I was given the run around, and she said she would speak to her boss and refund some of the $376 charge. Here we are 10 days after that conversation and I have left her several messages and she is always out of the office or her boss is out of the office. Unless you just love people wasting your time, and being double charged for services, I highly recommend going ANYWHERE else. I moved to Bella, and I could have literally cried at how fantastic my experience was with them vs. Rose. The one positive in all the run around at Rose was Jim at the front desk at Radiology. When we told him what happened he was so understanding and did everything he could to make things right for us, but the same can't be said for the Midwife department at all.
I had my first baby with Rose a week ago. I have loved every minute of my experience with them. I was told from early on that I would get one of their many midwives at delivery, so I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about that. I lived by the Highlands office and had all of my prenatal visits there. Mostly I saw Jenny because she really clicked well with my boyfriend and I, but over the course of my pregnancy I probably saw a total of 5 midwives, each of which was caring, informative, gracious, kind and answered all of my first time mom questions with respect. During delivery I was taken care of by two different midwives (neither of which I had met before) as we were in labor through shift change. They were both wonderful. They were helpful, cautious with me, and encouraging. Sylvia was the midwife who actually delivered my daughter. She was incredible! I pushed for 2.5 hours and she was always upbeat, encouraging, and cheering me on. The support staff was amazing too, labor and delivery nurses, post pardon nurses, pediatricians, lactation consultant, even the staff delivering food! Sorry for the lengthy review, but I wanted to be specific about my experience since there are some not so nice reviews on here. If I'm still in the area for my next child, I will definitely be going to Rose again!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
