Incompetence.
They were/are excellent. This past weekend, my mom and I brought our cat, Spitfire, in because he was cold, shaking, and was barely breathing. They met us out at the front and talked to us about what was wrong with him and they took him to the back and started helping him right away. In less than five minutes we were talking with the vet in charge of his care and she made us feel very comfortable and explained our options for Spitfire. She and the vet techs explained each step that would be taken and we knew what the cost would be going in, which was money very well spent. We were also allowed to visit him while he was being treated there. He is recovering right now, thanks to the efforts of VCA Alameda East. Thank you!
The vet tech left us in an exam room for over 3 hours with our sick dog. After the first hour, we asked the reception crew about the status of the vet and how much longer. They would give us the standard response of soon. Several hours later and asking multiple times, one of them actually did some work and found out that the vet tech wrote down the wrong exam room number. When the vet showed up to the incorrect exam room and no one was there, the vet assumed we left.
If they cannot even handle the most basic task such as writing down a number or looking in the next exam room, how can they provide care for an animal?

Seriously? How difficult is it to check the next room over?
I will never go here again, after waiting over 3 hours they sent me home with nothing when my pup has been throwing up and having diarrhea all day/night. They take your time and your money and don’t care about your pets. The receptionist at the front desk didn’t even know how to use the computer to check me in.
Courteous, clean, SAY A accredited, efficient. I feel a true sense of intense caring for the animal I brought in! Great work to the staff and I'll come back if and when it's needed!
Amazing people. Everyone was so friendly and quick to help my kitty's needs of xrays and surgery on the busy Columbus day weekend. They even offer a 10% military discount! Will come here for all my pet needs from now on.
