I called for an extra patrol and the officer who took my call was very helpful and quite polite.

The police, in responding to a very loud 4th of July celebration behind my house, did nothing to confiscate fireworks, claiming they didn't see any, and refused to talk to me when I offered to show them pictures. They also witnessed me being threatened and racially harassed and so nothing. After they left the scene, the fireworks resumed. I called the police and they said they returned, but I never heard the fireworks stop.

I understand that there were no citations issued for fireworks in Denver even though disturbing the peace and quiet enjoyment ordinances were rife throughout my area of the city, within blocks of the station house.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We have lived in this neighborhood for 5 years now, and only had to call the police ourselves twice and through our alarm company once. When we called the first time, back in 2013 I believe, it was concerning a potential break in. It took them over 2.5 hours to respond. We were informed that it is not "usually that long" and that they actually have one of the quickest response times in the country (12 minutes). The other time I called them, it was for a wellness check on a neighbors house where I heard screaming and a domestic dispute. They never showed.

Martinez showed up at our house after my conversation with him, and chatted with my husband. So finally, a police officer showed up almost 2 hours after dispatched. My husband beat them by over an hour. Even if dispatch was not cancelled at 418 PM, the fact of the matter is that their response time would have been dismal at over an hour since they were initially called at 312 PM. I will be filing a formal complaint with internal affairs. The way this district runs is NOT okay, and we have never experienced even one interaction that has instilled any confidence in them. Great neighborhood, horrible police.

Today was another test of their inept department. Our alarm went off at 306 PM, and they were called for dispatch at 312 PM. My husband promptly left work to go home and see if there were any issues. He arrived a little after 4 PM, to find that the house looked alright to him. However, he wanted the dispatch to continue as planned. I called the alarm company so they could inform the police that my husband was on site, so that way they would have less likelihood of shooting him. The alarm company explicitly told them not to cancel the alarm (I have transcripts of said conversation). This conversation took place at 411. At 418, dispatch chose to cancel NOT based on the alarm company. I called the alarm company back at 441 PM to confirm that they did not cancel and to check on dispatch. The alarm company called the police at 451 PM, it was then that they were informed that dispatch had been cancelled without notification to either the alarm company or me. I got a call from Corporal Martinez, at 454 PM just making sure "everything was okay". To which I responded that it was not, and we were still waiting on dispatch. That is when I was finally informed that they cancelled dispatch, 36 minutes later.

Thanks Matt & Karey.

I called in to file a complaint and the police essentially told me all the reasons I couldn't file a complaint. Even though they witnessed the area being swept and I had videos of the people firing them, they did everything they could to dissuade me from filing. I can file a complaint against the person living on the property for aiding and abetting, but I guess these policemen don't know that.
