The place recently changed owners. Although it is now named Fatoush, it still is using the menus from their old name, Damascus. The quality of the food has carried over, best hummus, great mains. But teething problems on getting the staffing and timing aspects worked out. Was a little slow and didn't get much guidance on the menu. I am sure they will work it out.

Great mid-eastern cuisine! Must try the dip sampler and the lentil soup!! Cozy environment. I love this place!

Like I said, I never write restaurant reviews and I feel terrible writing such a negative one, but I feel a responsibility to let folks know what they're getting, especially when Fatoush is still benefiting from the 4.4 rating of Damascus Grill. I hope they can step up their game and don't go the way of many restaurants before them.

The food quality is amazing and the dishes all taste great. However, I always leave feeling a little distressed b/c of the poor service. 1) it took 90 minutes for 2 of us to eat, even though there were only two other parties 2) I found myself constantly asking for water from the single waiter/host. It's been this slow all 5 times I've been.

Damascus Grill, I miss you. You will always be my favorite Syrian restaurant in Denver.

I never post restaurant ratings, but I think it's important to let people know that Fatoush is not the same restaurant that used to be there, Damascus Grill. A year ago, I went Damascus grill and had the most incredible moussaka, lamb kebabs, pita, and soft creamy mushrooms that I had ever tasted. It was pricey so I decided I wouldn't be able to go back until I had a special reason to. This week my parents were in town, and I wanted to take them to this wonderful Syrian place I knew (I couldn't remember the name, just that it was on colorado blvd in this strip). Fans of Damascus Grill, the restaurant still looks almost exactly the same inside, it's not until you sit down that you realize things are different. Anyway, that is how I stumbled upon Fatoush. The food was hit and miss, not at all the amazing cuisine of the old restaurant, I thought the baba ganouj was actually unpalatable (plus it didn't match the description in the menu-- I think they are still using the Damascus Grill menus). It took a long time to get our food and when it came out a lot of it wasn't hot. There was one chef and one server in the whole restaurant. It was just not great overall.

Food is excellent! Atmosphere is warm and very welcoming.
