I demanded a refund from the night before and advised that I would not be paying for her sorry attempt to fix it. She was only able to give me a partial refund. I looked so ugly that I cried on the way home.
I hope that the salon space gets turned into storage or a showroom for more products. That would be a better use of JCPenney's prime real estate and money. The salon did seem rather big for them to only have eight clients during my two day stay. Now I know why.
I contacted the salon the following day and asked for a different stylist, who agreed that my hair was an absolute mess. She claimed that she knew how to "fix it" and suggested that I come back in, so I did. I trusted her, but shouldn't have.
I spoke to the Salon Manager, Tony the next day who was kind enough to give me a full refund. He offered that I come back a third time to have him personally "make things right"! My hair felt like straw and I feared that it would fall out if I put anymore product on my head. I refused to give them another chance.
In summary, this salon is an absolute joke. Clearly no one knows what they are doing and they take their sweet time just to make their clients look worse than when they initially came in. I don't know how any of them graduated from hair school. They seemed more like beauty school dropouts to me. Any money spent for their educations was certainly a waste, just like my seven hours that I spent there over a weekend!
This review is for this location's so called "Professional Salon" based on an experience that I had there in June. I requested a very specific haircut with very specific highlights, which I provided pictures of. Tori assured me that she could achieve the look, but fell way short of her promises. It became apparent that she had no idea what she was doing within 10 minutes of sitting at her station.
The store is a bit messy. The quality of the merchandise has gone down since my last visit. The number of employees on the floor was minimal. I was unable to find one to ask questions of in several parts of the floor. I did purchase 2 tank tops but will be returning 1 of them. They did have plenty of people to check you out so that process was relatively quick. I will probably only return as a matter of last resort.
Hand sanitizer was applied to my face to remove specks of dye that she had sloppily placed on my head instead of using a professional grade remover. The hand sanitizer didn't even work! It only made my acne worse and caused my skin to dry. Tori had dropped dye on my jeans. Thankfully they were old. She was very careless throughout the entire process, which took almost three hours! That's the amount of time that I'd expect from a hair school, not a real world parlor.
The store was closing for the night and this second girl was still not done with my hair! The overhead lights were on a "store policy" timer, so they shut off before a pair of scissors had even been taken to my hair. Her coworker had to shine the flashlight from her phone in order for her to see what she was cutting. I was mortified. The light was way too dim to do anything let alone have a sharp object pointed at my head.
My haircut was uneven, unflattering, and nothing like the photo that I had shown her. The highlights were chunky and streaky with green and orange tones in some areas. I ended up looking like Tony the Tiger! I was feeling light headed from being in the chair so long without food that I was unable to stay that evening to have it fixed.
This girl proceeded with the same dye blend as Tori and simply placed it in different sections of hair! She too did not follow the photograph that I supplied. Again, I sat there for an excessive amount of time. I believe it was four hours! While there, I overheard another customer complaining about the quality of service that she had received on her cut and perm. She exclaimed that it should have been a simple beauty service and she was ashamed to be leaving looking the way that she did!
The power was cut from her working station, so she had to move me to a back wall for the hair dryer to be plugged into a working outlet. She wasn't allowed to style my hair further to make sure that the cut looked good, because security wanted us out! When she finished, I was still very unhappy, because it looked the exact same as when I had walked in!
Can I give zero stars. Went to the shoe department. Nobody to assist. No little socklettes to try on shoes...gross. Shelves messy. Gum on the shelves. I now know why they're barely in business.
Great prices. Friendly service No complaints.
I walked thru the whole store and didn't find one piece of clothing I liked or a pair of shoes. I've never had that problem I can always at least find a top or two. I did find only one purse that I liked.
