Great music and great lineups no doubt. However, The new location leaves a LOT to be desired. Starting with the holding pen that you have to stand in while they try to figure out who is where (it seemed like the first time they’d dealt with logistics of getting people seated), to the 3 tiered ticketing system. We were seated at the bar (apparently tier 2). Super staff at the bar was very courteous , however the entire show there were people walking in front of us and bumping into us, as we had to turn 180 degrees away from the bar to see the show. In my opinion (which has no restaurant experience I understand) The booths need to be remodeled to remove the high wall and the 3rd tier area was almost a separate room a good 30 yards from the stage. the decor and vibe inside is neat and pretty, but the experience during the show itself and the seating situation has me doubting if I’ll race back to see a show.
Food was good, try the Lil Sis, but I don't understand why they do such wonderful things like make their own rock candy for the drink and serve pitiful frozen fries with a dash of truffle seasoning. Hand cut fries and some Parmesan would be great!
Saw the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra play Disney last night, great music, loved the show.
We asked to sit outside, on the patio, a beautiful night, host said a waiter would be right there. Went to the restroom, host said the waiter should have been there by now. Went back outside. After 30 minutes of waiting, decided to go in and ask one last time. The host said he can sit us at a high top, near the band (he even apologized and said this is a nice area to watch music, eat, and drink). We waited literally another 20 minutes, no eye contact no service no nothing, so I looked on my phone where to go, and decided to go to Rock Bottom up the street. We ended up spending over 1K at rock bottom, and invited other people that were leaving the Great American Beer Festival,. The point is, is this restaurant either is short-staffed, or there is a slightly bigger issue, since I was two with my black friends visiting Denver from New York. Either way, downtown Dazzle did not dazzle me at all…in fact, if I was the owner, I would start with 101 ..train your staff true customer service. Next, treat all with the same respect, old – young – black – white – its 2017. If I owned this place, I would not allow this to happen. It drains downhill, all the way to the musicians that play there.
Dazzel brings in world class talent and has created a great New York style experience. Food and drinks are good, though as expected a little pricy, but that's not why you'd come here anyway. I do have to say I preferred the old location but understand why they moved to a more touristy area.
Service was excellent from bar and waitstaff, with one exception...the owner. We were seated at the bar and there was an open chair to our right. A menu was there so I assumed another person was with the woman next to it. My friend and I sat down, put our purses down, were given waters, settled, and looking at the menu when this guy (who I later realized was the owner) so rudely came behind us and told us to move one left or right because they only seat people in 2s. I get it, but do you have to be so rude in saying so? The place wasn't even packed, they didn't even seat more than 1 other person at the bar for the show. As the owner he should really have a better rapport with customers. Or better yet, let his attentive staff do their jobs and stay out of the way, because if I come back I hope for better.
Happened across this place while my daughter and I were waiting for a show at the DCPA. What a great environment. Fantastic service and although we received a plate that was undercooked, they didn't miss a beat to correct it. Literally within minutes we had another plate in front of us. Food was excellent, staff was attentive, friendly and excellent. Definitely and destination worth planning in our next outing.
It would be a great place to eat but it’s just not a great place to comfortably see high end jazz music
