I just want to take a second and laugh at some of these reviews. The library is perfectly fine. If you focus on the positive everything gets better.
I was doing the exact same thing as the lady behind me but for some reason she required gloves to help me. Should I add that I am African American. I typically would not speak on race because in my mind it's not important but this was extremely hurtful and even my children noticed.
Don't go here. Go to the main branch or do it yourself. Call down to the main one if you can't find it as they'll give you the service you need and get it right. These people won't get anything right!
Once my transaction was over she then took her gloves off and helped the Caucasian lady behind me.
I said yes and she proceeded to put on gloves before taking my ID or books.... (medical latex gloves)
Staff always courteous and pleasant. Books are always where they're supposed to be. Very clean and well stocked. The best library in Denver.
I looked at her and decided not to say anything and wait to see what the happen next.
While at this location I asked for help and a very nice lady who was sick helped me. There was an older women Jill( she gave me her name but I'm not sure if she was telling the truth, the other people in the branch didn't seem to know her name) who happens to be a temp at the same counter. Due to not having my library card I needed to return to the desk to check out books. When I returned there was a talk caucasian man (vert nice) checking out in front of me with Jill since she was the only one at the desk. His transaction was quick and then it was my turn.
I showed up to drop off my books and as I was taking the books OUT of the plastic bags, the woman behind the counter says very rudely, "I can't take those until you take them out of the bags, you know!" I looked at her and said, "Do you not see what I'm doing?!?!" Her response was that she was just checking. Bullshit she was just checking. I was with a friend and even said she was incredibly rude and absolutely blind apparently to what I was doing along with she obviously didn't want to do anything. That was my first visit.
When I approached the counter she was no longer smiling and said " ready to check out?".
My second visit I requested three movies and the girl has all of them sent there instead of to my normal branch where my account is set up to go to! What is that matter with these people?!?!! I'm so used to customer service from the MAIN branch being extremely stellar that the service from this branch is lower than pond scum service! They need to be RETRAINED on what EXCELLENT customer service is from the main branch people like Leslie, Evie, Dennis, BJ, Kelley, and James!
My family and I love this library! "I think it's cool!", says my 7 year old. They have great programs for kids, including their summer reading program. The staff is always helpful and friendly. They usually have newer movies too.
